In 2005 or 2006, we tried to brew the strongest beer we could. That beer was a 16% imperial stout and never saw the light of day. Fast forward to 2021, and we wanted to reconnect with that ambition of extra everything, and the mega-series was born. Big 15% adjunct stouts. Because more is more.
One of those stouts was Coco Coconut. It was like a liquid Bounty candy bar. Coconut from here to there. We took some of that beer and aged it in two different types of barrels, Kentucky Rye Whisky and Martinique Rhum Agricole, resulting in Coconut Beam and Coconut Cream. Can a candy bar become more candy? Yes, it seems. Coco-bello!

On tap at Brewers Bar Bar - Tredje Långgatan, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma is loaded with oodles of coconut and more coconut, with the barrels more subdued. Flavour is full of liquid coconut galore, coconut candy, almost a rum-like character, booze, and sticky sugars. Really nice coconut character but doesn’t actually seem to have the malt depth to back. Not too heavy on the palate. Very nice heavy hitter here.

Sampled @ Billie's Craft Beer Fest 2024, Saturday. A black beer with a beige lacing. Aroma and Taste of intense coconut, sweet dark malt, vanilla, lovely.

Black, no head. Sweet sugary notes, grapes, vanilla, cinnamon, coconut, bourbon, toffee, floral, raisins, booze. Quite sweet, boozy bitter. Full bodied. OK.

Can at home. Pours black, nose is huge coconut, chocolate cake, caramel, vanilla fudge, taste is chocolate, vanilla, coconut, very hot and boozy.
