Can at home picked up from Naiv in Frankfurt, 26th April 24. Pours black as the ace, frothy light tan head. Aroma is cocoa, malts, resin and citrus. Taste is cocoa, roasted malts, pine and resin, grapefruit and dusty cocoa powder, bitter and dry finish, smooth and overall a good BIPA

A black beer with a tan head. Aroma of dark roasted malt, resinous bitter hops, pine. Taste of piney bitter hops, spruce, dark roasted malt, coffee.

Draught Huge tan head, dense and layered over virtually black beer with shards of lace. Light roast, ashes, dried grains & culms, hopoil combined with the melanoidins. Fruity, grapey, as grapes left on the BBQ grill. There's an interesting sweetness underneath. Again a bit ashy, dried, partly scorched wood. Hopoils and a dry finish. Certain oilyness from the hops, quite slick and well-carbonated. Very classical, and good Black IPA.

440ml can. Quasi black colour with average to huge, thick, creamy, moderately lasting and lacing, dark beige to tan head. Roasty and chocolately, dark malty as well as slightly grassy and resinous, minimally zesty, citrusy fruity, hoppy aroma, hints of dark chocolate, some coffee, weed, a touch of orange peel. Taste is bitter, roasty dark malty and zesty bitter, slightly resinous hoppy, notes of coffee, coffee grounds, some weed, a touch of liquorice and orange peel, almost a bit ashy, bitter roasty interludes. Slightly oily, watery texture, dry, simultaneously minimally greasy palate, medium, soft carbonation. Quite bitter, not overly fruity - decent.

Cremiger röstmalziger Beginn mit kräftigem Hopfenaroma, das mit der Zeit noch zunimmt und das Malz teilweise übertrumpft. Leichte Bitterkeit, prickelnde Karbonisierung, hohe Süffigkeit. Spritzig, etwas Kaffee, langer malzig-hopfiger Ausklang, balanciert. Gut! 12/11/12/12/11/11

Black with lasting creamy head. It's a well balanced but slightly too mild Black IPA. Some roastiness. Some hop bitterness. Nice mouthfeel.
