Tokyo* Death is colossal. 15.0% ABV, seven different malts and an ageing potential well into the next decade; this beer is full-bodied, intensely roasty and lifted even further by jasmine and cranberry leaving a tartly bitter, floral aftertaste to mingle with the deep darkness.

330ml bottle. Pours jet black with a small head. Aroma is oily roast, liquorice, chocolate and dark berries. Taste has oily roast, dark berries and cocoa to start. Dark berries and roast on the finish. Boozy aftertaste.

Jet black colour with a small tan head. Good retention. Aroma is soy sauce, rich roasted malts, vanilla, dark chocolate...smells incredible. Taste is heavy roasted malts, rich dark chocolate and soft booze. Thick mouthfeel.

Appearance is nearly black, with a light brown bubbly covering. Aroma- lots of boozy notes, dark fruit, treacle toffee, roast malt, rum, vanilla and bourbon hints, woodiness, rich coffee, dark chocolate, more booze. Taste- caramel and chocolate cheesecake, burnt dark malts, hint of coconut, vanilla, peat whisky, fudge, cinder toffee. Boozy Christmas cake. A trace of peat/smoke in the finish, with more sweetness. Good stuff.

On tap at Craft Room, Opatovina, Zagreb. Looks black to me. Medium firm creamy lasting tan head. Aromatic, roasty, chocolate with red fruit, toasted bread, wood. Syrup, chocolate. Flavour is wood, light peat, light soy sauce, dried fruit, serious roasty background. Alcohol slightly present but we'll hidden. Fruit jam and malt syrup, honey here and there. Light coconut. Spices. Drinkable even. Smooth texture with slightly rough edges. Sweet. Slick. Light finish. Good balance. Medium body. Strenght felt. Dry finish. Robust.
