La Salamandre, the original BFM, wheat beer, fresh and spicy. Brewed with wheat- and barley malt, La Salamandre is a beer with a bloomy and tangy bouquet. On the palate, the subtle hints of yeast render the beer creamy with a tad o’ tartness, which is typical for wheat beers. The finish is hardly bitter, but racy, with a taste of bitter orange zest and discrete hops.

On tap at Watering Hole and listed as a Biere de Garde. Nice tart nose with lemon, orange juice and some other citrus flavors on the nose. Taste is more of the same with a strong orange character along with some light spice. Refreshing tart with some light lacto. Finish is tart with a nice creamy finish. Wonderful!

Bottle [from trade with CH-303] @ home. Hazy yellow color, medium to full sized white head that lasts for a decent while. Smell and taste are both full of a weird kind of fruityness that reminds me vaguely of apricot and unripe apple. Average to decent body, carbonation. A surprising witbier, let’s keep it at that.

Appearance: Light orange golden, clear. Some fizzy, off-white head.
Aroma: Wheat, slight citrus fruit.
Taste: Wheat, citrus fruit, banana. Actually very nice and refreshing, no hint of the sourness/tartness that I am so used to with BFM beers.
Bought: Gift from DF/FD, 330 ml, CHF ?.??

A la biere comme a la biere, paris: pours golden with a white head. Aroma is floral and some yeast. Taste is floral and slightly sweet. This really wasnt bad. I am surprised by the low rating.

Light hazy golden color with a white head. Some lacing. Mild acidic, malty, some wheat and herbal aroma. Medium body. Tad sweet and an ok bitterness. Average carbonation. Wheat, malty, yeast, herbal and fruity. Seemed a bit unbalanced. Some weird acidic notes.

On tap at Tipi Bar Siviez, Switzerland. The only real craft beer bar on 4 Vallees ski area. There’s many bar/restauran at the slopes having Heineken, Cardinal, Erdinger, etc. but only here I’ve managed to find BFM beers. So I was pilgrim here every day. La Cuivree, La Salamandre and La Torpille available at the time. Cloudy yellow coloured, small white head, wheaty coriander nose. Mild malty, wheaty, spicy and light fruity with notes of coriander and orange peel. Mild bitterish and pleasant spicy finish. Nice one.

Sving-topp flaske 330ml fra Vinmonopolet, Bestillingsutvalget. Åpner uten smell men med litt røyk. Lys gusjegulgrønn med tett partikkelforurensning. Litt skum som faller nesten helt sammen. Ser ikke bra ut! God aroma av modne plommer. Smaken har preg av banan & søtlig krydder. Mye sedimenter igjen på flaska.
