They have taken a classic Imperial Stout and blown all the best bits out of proportion: stuffed the mash tun to the gills, double mashed for extra flavour, used premium Irish malt, gone overboard with toasted dark malts and extra roasted barley – all before committing the beer to a month long sentence in Jameson whiskey barrels, courtesy of their friends in Irish Distillers. Only 1,000 litres bottled.

Bottled. Pitch black colour, mediumsized beigeish brown head. Aroma is toasted, some chocolate, mild wood and some toasted tones ith mild fudge too. Flavour is roasted malts, chocolate, some mild alcohol sweetness, wood, mild vanilla with some dried fruits. Rather gentle impy.

Bottled 330ml (Beerdome) Opaque colour, small beige head. Toasted, cocoa aroma, suprisingly no whiskey here. Medium-bodied. Mellow palate. Toasted malts, licorice and cocoa in the flavour. Light alcohol but overall hides ABV well. Also in the flavour tracing Jameson is difficult - maybe some fruityness? Anyhow slick, pleasant although simple impy.
