Head High is our interpretation of an American-style India Pale Ale (IPA). This beer is all about the hops; we use a blend of five different varieties all grown in the Pacific Northwest. A small charge of Chinook and Columbus early in the boil adds a smooth bitterness. A majority of the hops are then added late in the kettle or post-fermentation to produce a beer that is heavy on hop flavor and aroma. The combination of Cascade, Centennial, Citra and Columbus give Head High a noticeable grapefruit flavor with aromas of citrus, tropical fruits and pine. Our house American ale yeast ferments to a dry finish that accentuates the use of imported Pilsner and lightly kilned crystal malt resulting in Head High’s straw color and crisp flavor.

Can shared by Kyle, thanks! Pours a near clear light gold with a white head that lasts throughout the beer. Aroma has notes of grass a and light citrus with a sweet grains backbone. Flavor has more of a earthy juicy citrus with some sweet grains and some light grass.

16oz can from the brewery pours a hazy yellow with some frothy, white head. Nose has quite a bit of wet/dank hop, vegetal to that end, lemon, heavy wet grass, some pine needle, a little floral sweetness lurking. Flavor has some honey and flower pollen, more soap and grass than pine here, lemon, light tropical fruit. Finishes dry, lightly bitter and very easy to drink.

On tap at Newark airport. Pours is a mostly clear good with a dense but thin head and lovely aromas that make me realize how much I have missed hops in the last week. Flavor is also just perfect after a long week. Not even going to make a stab at describing it other than to say it is perfect.

Keg at Newark Airpt, New Jersey. Cloudy deep golden, minimal head. Generous tangerine and gooseberry aroma. Mid dry with medium body and rounded mouthfeel. Exceptionally rich on aromatic hops, with loads of citrus and tropical fruits. Long bitter finish. Probably the best beer I’ve ever had at an airport.

My wife dragged me to her friends birthday dinner in NJ, but was pleads Ty surprised to find Kane on tap since I’ve heard good things. Pours hazy yellowish orange with puffy head. Nose is wonderful juicy tropical fruit. Tastes of grapefruit, kiwi, mangoes, floral, pine, some biscuits. Lively palate. Really delicious ipa

From a growler, provided by Travlr, thanks! Poured a nice slightly hazy orange color with a nice white head. Aroma was notes of pine resin, herbal, earthy hops and a nice slightly tropical fruit note. Flavor was quite nice in the hop department, imparting notes of earth, pine and citrus. Very refreshing, enjoyable to consume. Thanks!

Location: Draft at Texas Arizona, 3/8/13
Aroma: The nose is pine hops, some citrus, and some caramel malts as well
Appearance: This one pours an orange color with a nice, thick, white head atop it
Flavor: It is light-medium sweet and mid-plus bitter making for a hoppy beer with a little balance
Palate: The body is medium, it gets a bit sticky, but drinks pretty clean, with a lingering bitterness
Overall Impression: This is another very nice offering from Kane. Good stuff for sure. It has a good feel and a nice level of bitterness that make for an enjoyable example of the style.
