Hoptopia is Hermitage Brewing Company’s flagship IPA. This amber colored beer has a great aroma that is a mixture of piney, citrus, and floral hop notes. This hop forward beer has a piney hop flavor, mixed in with some grapefruit-like character, and balanced by a toasted malt flavor with hints of caramel. Hoptopia is a well balanced IPA that is remarkably approachable and easy drinking.

This just didn’t work for me. Pours a fairly clear, light golden yellow, with smallish head. Aroma is very grassy and bready. Flavor also dominated by bready/biscuit and too sweet and boozey.

Bottle at America Strikes Back, Ulfborg. Pours slightly hazy amber with airy off-white head. Clear aroma of malt and hops, with touches of fruit. Bitter, hoppy flavour, with round notes of fruit and a pronounced acidic finish. Nice.

Bottle sampled at a tasting event. From notes. Dank, lemon and floral hops with a good dose of orange citrus. Pretty darn good.

Pour is a hazy orange with a small white head. Aroma is pine hops and not much else. Flavor is the same. Dank hops with a thin malt to back things up. A respectable IPA not a double IPA.

This beer pours a clear amber color with a medium thin off-white head that burns away quickly to a film. Top ring of lacing with spots underneath. Aroma of hops and caramel malt. Medium body with flavors of herbal hops, malt and sweet caramel. The finish is short with a lightly bitter hops aftertaste. Fairly inconsequential IIPA overall.

Pours clear deep gold with narrow copper core and semi loose off white head. The aroma offers up lots of spicy hops, some pine resin and then cedar wood spiciness too. Around the aromatic edges of those notes I get a wedge of grapefruit. The taste is similar with robust hops running from a wide load of spicy hops to a moderate level of pine hops to a mild amount of grapefruit citrus like hops. As some of the hop notes come together I get a firm anvil of spicy cedar wood. Interesting brew. Loved it.
