Vuoden 2018 Proto-sarjan käynnistävä Proto#16 on punertavasävyinen, tasapainoisen maltainen IPA. Jokainen miettiköön itse onko tämä West Coast, East Coast vai kenties South Coast -tyylinen IPA. Me unohdimme turhan luokittelun ja keskityimme panemaan olutta Malmgårdin tyyliin. Kotimaista ohramallasta, speltin tuomaa pähkinäisyyttä ja tummien maltaiden karamellimaisia vivahteita. Humaloinnissa ensin aromaattista hedelmäisyyttä ja jälkimaussa hiljalleen voimistuvaa katkeruutta. Maku, joka houkuttelee nautimaan toisenkin kulauksen.

Draught@Bruuveri, Helsinki. Amber colour, small off-white head. Aroma is fruity, some rye, mild wood and toffee. Flavour is fruity, floral, nutty, some rye and mild bready and grainy notes to it.

Draught @ SOPP Tampere 2018. Aroma has nice tropical fruits and resin. Flavour has minerals, oaty tones, resin and hash malt. Good.

On tap at Suuret Oluet Pienet Panimot - Tampere, pours a cloudy dark amber with a medium beige head. Aroma brings out light resinous hops and bready caramel malt. Flavour is along the same lines, with caramely bready malt and light resins. Chewy and malty. It's alright.

Tap at Sopp Tre. Dark amber colour, medium-sized beige head. Rye, bread, caramel, hay in the nose. Medium-bodied. Caramel, rye, spicey hoppy, berries. Good proto.

Draught @ William K, kurvi. Poured dark amber in color with a thick white head. Bready malts, light spicy, dusty grainy aroma. Flavor has bread, dusty, grainy. Medium bodied, fresh brew. Really like the grainy notes.

Tap at One Pint Pub, Helsinki. Color is clear dark orange with small white head. Aromas and flavors: Some sweetness, caramel, pine, some bread, low hops and malts. Malty amber IPA.

(Keg at William K Kurvi, 20180309) The beer poured deep amber and cloudy. Its head was medium sized, dense and nearly white. Aroma had malts, grass and herbalness. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were grass, caramel, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was malty and bitter. The beer felt surprisingly thin. Bit disappointing.
