Appearance: Black colour with a beige head.
Aroma: Roasted malt, liquorice, alcohol, chocolate.
Body: Full body, low carbonation.
Flavour: Chocolate, liquorice, fruit, alcohol.

Bouteille 75cl. Brune foncée, col épais café au lait, doré sur le verre. Arôme au nez grillé, chocolate, café, fève de cacao voire de Tonka. Poudreux avec fini céréales. Palais malt grille, chocolate touché d’espresso, caramel crystal avec une dose de mélasse. Houblonné léger anglais, fruité noir.

Keg at SBWF. Black with coarse beige head. Rich aroma of chocolate and tobacco. Mid dry with medium-full body and rounded mouthfeel. Chocolate, licorice, leather and tobacco, some hazelnuts. Long bitter finish. Richg and harmonious. Another winner from Kinn!

330 ml. bottle @ home. Dark brown to black, small tanned head. Nose is muffin, faint blue cheese, sweet, low roast, sugar, muffin dominates, very lovely. Taste is rather bitter with coffee grounds, low ash, lacking the muffin from the nose, faint blue cheese, reasonable amount of roast, some ashes. Body is bit thin, dry, ashes, low licorice. Pretty solid bit too thin, burned coffee grounds with some decent licorice & vauge blue cheese. Overal pretty solid decent old school UK styled RIS. NIce blast from the past.

Bottle. Almost black color. Aroma: coffee, roasted malt, chocolate, brandy, port wine. Taste: coffee, caramel, caramel, brandy, butter, medium hop bitterness.

9th July 2016: RBESG Grand Tasting (part 1). Cheers Sigmund for the four large bottles from Kinn Bryggeri: I liked them all. Even if they nearly finished me off! Nearly black in colour, deep beige head. All about the roasted malts and the various aromas and flavours they imparted: coffee, cocoa and a semi-sweetness in the mouth. Smooth and creamy Imp Stout, far too easy on the palate and very drinkable.

Mørk brun/svart farge med beige skum. Lukter røkt, kaffe og vanilje. Smaker litt salt lakris, kaffe, sjokolade. Imperial stout slik den skal være. :-)

Bottle at RBESG 2016 Grand Tasting Part 1, Brew Pub Le Sec. Near black with a thick beige head. Aroma of licorice, roast, dark chocolate, overripe dark fruit and malt. Flavour is above moderate sweet and moderate bitter. Above medium bodied with soft carbonation. [09-07-2016]

Bottle at RBESG16 thanks to Sigmund. Almost black with bubbly light brown head. Lots of roasted malts, sweet coffee, cocoa beans, sweet malts. Medium roasted bitter and medium sweetness. Medium bodied. Nice beer.

On tap at CBC 2016. Pours black with short tan head Aromas of licorice, black coffee, and dark roasted malts. Flavors follow same, sharp and clean. Dry.
