For this year’s International Women’s Day brew, we are collaborating with XHale Brew Co to create our own take on a very new style, the “Cold IPA”, which is sweeping across the USA but has yet to make its mark on Alberta. This mixed style combines aspects of both a European Lager and a West Coast IPA to create a very unique brew that is light in colour, crisp in finish, and heavy on hops. What better way to showcase this year’s Pink Boots hop blend? Our annual Pink Boots Brew is used to re-establish the conversation around women empowerment and inclusion in the brewing industry and we’ve teamed up with XHale Brew Co to help expand our reach with this important message.

Can, a gift from my manager. Aroma combines light citrus and cream. Clear light gold. Thin foamy translucent white head really thins out. Medium bitter. Resin and citrus. Herbal. And underlying chalky dusty element (admittedly, I have no recollection of having previously tasted either of these for comparison purposes). Light. Thin to slick. Soft carbonation, verging on flat. Long dry slightly astringent finish. Crisp dry stuff... satisfying.

473ml can. Pours a hazy yellow gold with a small, foamy, long lasting, white head that leaves curtains of lace. Sweet fruity aroma of bready pale malt, orange peel, peach, mango, passionfruit, floral and weedy hops. Sweet fruity flavour of grainy pale malt, grapefruit, mango, peach, green grape, passionfruit and light piney hops in a dry, bitter finish. Light to medium body with a slick texture and average carbonation. Tasty and crushable.
