On tap at The Green Goddess, Blackheath Royal Standard. Mango, pineapple, lemon drops & grapefruit aromas. Taste is grapefruit, tropical fruits, mire lemon drops. Juicy bittersweet finish. Easy drinking & most quaffable indeed.

Golden hay with a white head. Soft in profile and flavor. Some citrus, light malts, a bit of fruit. Very relaxed but I wouldn’t call it muted. Just soft and easy. Finish has some bitterness. Very nice.

Sights & Swills Summer Holiday Beer#44. GOREY. First of three beers sat by the sea to end my last day on Jersey. Hazy golden, easy and soft as it says on the tin. Gentle aroma and a taste of stone fruit.

Aroma has soft fruits with a malty edge. Hazy-opaque medium orange. Thin foamy translucent white head. Tangy sweet fruit. Light. Slick. Long dry somewhat astringent finish. Sessionable but not overly exciting. Served rather cold.

Can at home in Hackney - picked up from Siren online. Pours clouded gold, pale, with a creamy, white topping. Light sweet flavour with a muted mix of citrus and tropical fruits, an oaty accent, pale bread, modest rindy bitterness. Light bodied with average carbonation. OK balance to finish, a few pine needles, biscuity pale malts, citrus rind. Drinks fine, this is pretty much a standard example of a hazy pale ale - not much notable about it, but it's fine enough.

Cask at Moon under Water, Wolverhampton. Pours a cloudy lemon yellow with minimal off-white head and good lacing. Not much of an aroma – just hints of floral hops. In the mouth it is decidedly sweet and smooth with citrus and grapefruit. Later on lemon and some bitterness come through as well, leading to a dry and slightly sticky finish. This is OK, but not my sort of beer at all.
