Für unsere Dolia-Reihe haben wir einen Barley Wine mit satten 21 Grad Plato Stammwürze eingebraut: ein traumhaft vollmundiger Malzkörper trifft auf eine milde Bittere – ganz im Stil der klassischen, englischen Gerstenweine des 19. Jahrhunderts. Das ganze haben wir dann auf ausgewählte Holzfässer verteilt und reifen lassen. 18 Monate.
Vor Dir steht Een, die Nr. 1. In einem erlesenen Holzfass gereift, in dem zuvor ein wunderbarer Rum lagerte, geizt er nicht mit feinen Noten von grünem Apfel, Zimt und Rosinen. Damit passt er vorzüglich zu kräftigen Käsesorten oder einem fruchtig-deftigen Nachtisch.

330ml bottle. Cloudy, brown colour with slightly late awakening, small, creamy, fading, off-white to beige head. Caramel malty and slightly spicy malty, tannic, minimally woody aroma, notes of caramel, oak, rum, molasses, some alcohol. Taste is alcoholic, tannic, woody, caramel malty basis without residual sweetness, hints of rum, molasses, alcohol, oak.
Viscous texture, smooth, minimally cloying palate, fine, dense, mildly prickly carbonation.
Boozy, imbalanced, tannic, thereby rather monotonous; nice mouthfeel, though - disappointing.

Smooth mild fruity beginning. Grain there, hints of wood with a plain back. Not much aroma there, hints of rum far in the back. Clear deep amber beer with a white lacing. Aroma of dried fruits, caramel, plums, rum. Taste of rum barrel, wood, dried fruits, boozy finish.
