Reviewed from notes.
Bottle to snifter. Consumed on 09/05/2024.
Appearance: dark brown close to black in color with a quickly dissipating head and some bubbles? hmmmm...yeah bubbles, hmmm...and no lace
Aroma: milk chocolate, dark chocolate, hazelnuts and hazelnut cream; then some bourbon barrel sweetness; light coconut notes further down in there
Flavor: combines the prior noted aromas to a fine sweet to nutty sweet and creamy sweet quality (it might all be pretty sweet but different variations of the sweet which helped); finishes leaning into the bourbon, chocolate and hazelnut sweet tones
Texture: medium bodied; great sipper; great smoothness and nothing distracting from the barrel
Overall: finally patting myself on the back for figuring out how to age Prairie bourbon barrel stouts - note taken and correcting my cellaring mistakes - cheers to trial by fire I guess. This bottle was aged approximately a year before opening.

dark, brown head with small bubbles, looks like a mean BA heavy stout.
Aroma is DEEP chocolate with chocolate powder, dark chocolate and stuff, also roasted malts, nuts, i'd say chestnuts but also hazelnuts, very in your face aroma. extreme.
Flavor is very pastry - nuts a lot, sweet notes like chocolate and nuts, the alc. can be detected but is mostly hidden, also coconut somewhere in there, and bourbon barrel aged notes. however, a bit too pastry for my preferences but one hell of an intense imp stout with extreme complexity. Tastes like a gourmet dessert like michelin level.

Nice espresso martini vibes plus tons of hazelnut. Hazelnut coffee never misses for me, as far as I can remember. Prairie never misses for me either, as far as I can remember. Tons of chocolate notes from the base!

Pours jet black and a brown head with zero retention. Aroma's: strong (hazel)nuts, almost wet dog, a bit artificial. Retronasal it's sweet, nutty, red fruit, fudge, milk chocolate, alcohol. Flavour is heavy sweet, nutty, light roast. Warming alcohol. Full bodied. Flavour lingers.

Aromas are massive hazelnut with some roast and dark malt. Flavors are like nose, add in some dates and brown sugar. Almost too sweet. Good body. A little alcohol in the finish. Not bad but too sweet for me.

Espresso, hazelnut, cocoa nose. Black viscous pour, thin tan head. Espresso, molasses, wormwood, vanilla, nougat, subtle prune. Full body, easy carbonation. Hot, but tolerable and welcome. Rich and wonderful! Every sip is a new delight.
