Thanks Virby44! 2021 vintage into a taster showing pitch black with dark brown rims.

The nose shows intense notes of cinnamon and Graham crackers.

The palate is well carbonated and full bodied with a lightly oily mouthfeel and a mild peppercorn crackle. Lightly sweet with a cinnamon toast forwardness followed by a very light latte bitterness on the finish.

2023 750mL bottle, #1723, drunk 9/30/23, SP 10th line share. Dark, unclear. Burgundy-maroon edges. Burnt tan head does form but quickly fizzles away. Lots of cinnamon, less so pepper. Aggressive bourbon character still a touch hot. Cinnamon, bourbon, alcohol cut through the heavily chocolatey/fudgey malts. In the mouth it's fairly soft and very sweet. Not as much as the last BA darklord I had, but still much too sweet. No thick, rich, syrupy texture to soak up all this sugar, cinnamon and alcohol. Thinning on the finish. Bourbon has its moments. Cinnamon is overdone, though not egregiously so. But at the end of the day it's unbalanced on account of the sweetness.

2020 bottle shared by Jon at Your Old Droog Cellar Blast. Thanks Jon! Pours pitch black with a finger of brown head that dissipates. Dark chocolate, soy sauce, molasses and treacle aromas on the nose with a touch of vanilla as it warms. Cinnamon very noticeable on the nose as well. Floral peppercorn, dark chocolate and caramel on the palate with more cinnamon that lingers on the finish. Decadent and rich on the palate. ABV is there, but not overbearing. A great beer!
