Tap Muddy brown colour with medium head.Aroma of oak and caramel,mild toasted and bready with nice malty and fruity finish.

Review based on the BJCP2015 guidelines (style 30C/26D). Bottle 75 cl - Batch unknown (BBF 03/09/28). AROMA: medium-low sweet aroma (caramelly) with phenolic belgian yeast notes, followed by low spices (clove-like), peppery alcohol. APPEARANCE: very dark amber color and clear. large beige head with good retention. lace formation. TASTE: similar to the aroma with notes of yeast fermentation (phenolic-like: pepper, clove), caramelly flavor, and low peppery and slight rose-like alcohol. medium-low to low bitterness but balanced. finishes dry. PALATE: medium-high body with medium to medium-high carbonation. alcoholic warmth but smooth. OVERALL: a nice belgian dark strong ale-like beer but a bit bland for a Christmas beer.

Bottle @ Home. Pours very dark brown with a light tan head, light lacings. Aroma of sweet malt, caramel, yeast, candy sugar- loads actually, sweet dried fruit. Flavor is sweet, rich malty, caramel, candy sugar, yeast, fruit, little orangepeel, dried fruit, alcohol. Medium to full body, average carbonation, sweet finish with warming alcohol. 010119

Mørk brun med lavt lys brunt skum. Lukter brent sukker, kandissukker og mørke frukter. Middels fylde og bitterhet. Brent karamell, mørk sjokolade og svisker. Middels lang.

Not sure why, but these Christmas beers are all a bit disappointing. Maybe cuz I'm alone? Regardless, don't usually like liquorice flavor...

Creamy beige head stayed on a near black still body. Smooth aroma of malt, lactose & chocolate. Full-bodied, smooth, minimal carbonation & cloying on the back. Strong boozy tastes of demerara, chocolate, dark spirits, dark spirits, lactose & sweet berry tastes.

Creamy offwhite good fully lasting head. Dark amber colour. Moderate malty and hoppy and yeasty aroma. Moderate bitter nice spicey flavor. Long heavy bitter finish. Creamy palate.

bottiglia 33 cl, bel cappello di schiuma fine cappuccino persistente, color marrone con riflessi mogano, al naso lieviti belgi esteri frutta matura uvetta sotto spirito leggero caffè malto tostato e non invadente anice stellato, in bocca è vellutata e riscalda malto tostato frutta candita spezie leggero banana, corpo strutturato, l'alcool si sente ma ci vuole, carbonazione leggera, Dolce con amaro rilevante lungo nel finale. L'avrei proferita leggermente meno amara ma rimane comunque un ottima birra di Natale. 22.12.18

Botella 33 de Vivalabirra tomada en Grado 29..12..2018. Color marrón oscuro turbio con espuma beige con buena retención. Sabores y aromas maltosos tostados con toques especiados y buena dosis de torrefactos algo acafetados secos con algo de amargor al final. Cuerpo medio a intenso con buena sensación alcohólica desde el principio, bastante sabor acabando es amargo seco final torrefacto y duradero. Especiada,canela, suaves anís estrellado. Bastante buena para, totalmente navideña, para repetir sin duda. En mi opinión la mejor edición y con más sabor.
