Dieses Roggen-IPA ist mit HBC 586 erstgehopft und mit Simcoe hopfengestopft. Dabei soll der Roggen ein brotiges 🍞, würziges 🌿 und tropisches 🏝️ Aroma einbringen. Und ich muss sagen, dass das ganz gut passt. Im Geruch und Einstieg kommt es einem klassischen Roggenlager mit Brot sehr nahe und geht dann über in einen würzigen, nicht zu bitteren, Körper mit Kümmel, Fenchel, aber auch Anis und Basilikum. Relativ abstrus, aber genau passend für ein Craftbier amerikanischer 🌎 Art und europäischer 🌍 Prägung und urtypisch für das Lokal.

BBT visits Vienna. Tap at 1516. Rather thin body and high carbonation. High bitterness, light sweetness. Lots of grassy, piney, zesty hops character. Does not feel exactly simcoeish, but good nevertheless.

From tap @ the source @ Drang nach Wien. Head is big, egg-white, good retention. Colour is deep gold, light hazy. Aroma is malty, mellow fruity, citrus, tropical fruits, nice hoppy. Taste is full malty base, grapefruit, nice balanced bitterness, tropical fruits, pine resin, medium carbonation, very nice, enjoyed.

Tap at brewpub. BBT trip Vienna. Amber color with white head. Aroma of rye, citrus hops, light hops. Taste is nicely hopped, grapefruit, zest, rye. Nice hoppy finish.

Tap at brewpub during BBT Wiena trip. Malty and hoppy aroma and taste, citrus fruit, light resin notes, rye, medium bitter. Medium body, malty and hoppy bitter finish. Ok.
