A tall boy can containing ingredients I like going into an imperial stout. Tilting into my tulip glass, I determine a black body with a velvety head of dark brown foam that quickly becomes a small ring around the glass. The scent is rich with chocolate and coffee. And the taste is good, really fine, better than the smell. Semi-sweet chocolate, vanilla, a syrupy sweetness, pecans, dark bread and grain. A lingering bitterness follows. A pleasant surprise in a much-liked style.

16oz can from Halftime. Black pour, flat. Aroma is vanilla and maple, some chocolate, faint coffee. Taste also favors the vanilla and maple, coffee just a minor accent to the chocolate. Silky, smooth, mild sweetness, little sign of the ABV.
