Belgian-style dark strong ale aged in bourbon barrels with coffee
Brave the depths of winter with a soul-warming cup of Koffie! Our Belgian dark strong-inspired base beer was matured in freshly-emptied Heaven Hill Bourbon barrels (for nearly a year) and finished on whole, locally-roasted coffee beans. The resulting aromas and flavors of rich, roasty, coffee balance with notes of fig, brown sugar, and oak-induced vanilla.
Vintage: 2022
Cases produced: 180
Microbes: Saccharomyces
Barrels: Freshly-emptied Heaven Hill bourbon
Special ingredients: Whole coffee beans
Koffie is a new addition to the Alesong lineup and, as you might guess from our creative name, an homage to two of our favorite things - Belgian beers and coffee! Sure to warm your soul on a wintry day, just like a good cup of coffee.

500ml bottle pours out cola brown topped with a tan head. Nose is nice sweet malts pitfruit bourbon barrel and coffee. Taste is more of the nice sweet malts pitfruit spice coffee and bourbon barrel.

500ml bottle from Tavour. Dark brown pour with an airy beige head. Aroma leads with light coffee notes, chocolate, pit fruit notes. Taste follows with a nice subtle bitter coffe flavor, sweet chocolate and plums. Mellow, rich.

Coffee in the name, coffee in the description, coffee in the beer, still less coffee than Anchorage coffee beers. Any of em. And I don't hate it! Definitely light Belgian strong ale fig notes + light coffee hints. Nice barrel notes upfront and throughout.
