Myrobalan plums (pronounced My Ro Bal En) hail from China, brought over by the workers during the golden age of mining here in Idaho. They are small like a cherry, often called Cherry Plums, and are quite sweet and tart. The trees we pick from are over 100 years old, still thriving in the Brownlee Reservoir canyon. They come in a variety of colors (2023 is of the Golden variety) and are wildly productive! The mead comes off almost cider like; sweet, tart, and absolutely addictive!
