Na de IPA, DIPA, NEIPA, WIPA en TIPA nu dan ook een QUIPA oftewel Quadrupel India Pale Ale.

Thank god it's QUIPA time! Is een prettige collaboration met Eem bier. Dit bier is een royaal gehopte quadrupel en is vol van smaak. Geniet van de mooie bitterheid, aangevuld met aroma's van mango, tropisch fruit en peer.

Bottle at home, amber beer, medium head. Aroma is amber beer, small head. Aroma is malt, sweet, fruit, tropical fruit, mango, yellow fruit. Taste is the same, bitter, sweet, fruit, hops, alcohol, long bitter dry aftertaste. Quite heavy but easy to drink. Not bad

This 33 cl bottle came in an order from Smaakhuis, my first purchase there. I need to read more closely, thought this was a quadrupel ale, I missed the fine print. Instead I am about to taste my first IPA from the Netherlands. Using my New Belgium globe glass on this tasting, the cap is lifted and I pour. Dark gold with essences of amber along with an eggshell tan head, moderate presence of that before dwindling. I smell grain, hops, some sort of fruit and an earthiness. And now the drink, well, pretty much all right. Hops, a honey sweetness, kiwi or mango or both, white bread and malt. A boozy effect circulating and a bit of bitterness to offset the sweetness. More complex than expected and that is a good thing.
