Old Norway is our version of the classic barleywine style. Golden in colour with loads of chewy American hops to balance out the sweet British malt.

Amber, clear with a minimal white head. A fruity nose with lots of caramel. Sweet with a more caramel and fruit end.

33cl bottle from Alko.Poured deep golden color with a thin white head.Bready. Malty. Sweet. Bisquity notes in aroma. Warming, sweet with hops, malts and good bitterness. Good body. Feels more lika an American strong ale more than a barley wine.

(Bottle, 0.33 l - 8.0% ABV - BBE 2020, from Alko, 20191011) The beer poured amber and nearly clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had grass, malts and sweetness. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were malts, grass, dark fruits, caramel and bitterness. Aftertaste had dark fruits, malts and bitterness. A decent but bit harsh barley wine. Ageing might improve this one.

Bottled 330ml (Alko web)
Clear amber-copper colour, medium-sized off-white head. Strong resiny hoppy aroma. Medium-bodied, even light for its ABV. Quite sweet, malty, a bit fruity flavour. Only light resiny hoppyness. After hoppy nose it was suprise how sweet this is. Barley Wine? Perhaps American Strong Ale.

A reddish-brown beer, a head is medium and blond. Nice looking beer. Aroma has sweet diried fruitness, not too sweet, apricot, perry, some caramel. Taste has caramel malts, dried fruitness, apricot. Some herbal bitterness in drying the mouth. Almost full bodied, smooth. Great beer!

Slightly hazy gold, decent white head. Smells of honey and tropical fruit. This is very, very smooth. Honey, tangy fruit, malt. You get a bit of the strength as well. Bitter, hoppy aftertaste. Almost like an IPA in the finish which will come from the type of hops I assume. Smooth, rich, complex. This is bloody lovely.
