Can shared at a tasting at Max’s place. Clear yellow-golden with a white head. Grainy aroma with some corn, hay. Sweetish flavor, grainy, with a light corny hint, and a decent bitterish noble hops finish. Light-bodied. Quite drinkable.

Shared 330ml bottle picked up at a kiosk in Koblenz. Bright clear golden coloured body. Fair white head, slowly diminishing. Mild grassy hops on the nose. Mixed taste of grain and herbal hops, hints of cardboard. Harsh, short-lived, bitter finish. Soft in the mouth. Very average German pilsener (at the riverboat, MS Serenade 1, 23.07.2014).

Ins Glas ergießt sich ein klares goldgelbes Bier mit schöner Schaumkrone. Geruch hopfig, getreidig, grasig. Geschmack hopfig, grasig, lang anhaltende Bitterkeit.

Bottle: Golden, clear, greenish sheen, stable creamy white head, dry papery-grassy nose with a strawy (hoppy?) touch; dry bitter-sweet flavour, light bodied; bitter-grassy finish. Typical monotonous german mass-market Pilsener...

New entry from the Konigsbacher brewery, a straightforward german pils. Nice golden color, light head, and a clean, snappy taste. Sharp and tingly on the tongue, with a faint grainy aftertaste. A good example of a German pils from this old German brewery.

1st beer in a mini-German evening I’m having with myself (13 June 2012). Tall brown 0.5 litre bottle, well in date when poured into an old ’Schultheiss’ 0.5 litre sleeve. Mid-range lager/pilsner gold: clear, bright and clean. Good foaming head of snow white bubbles which tried to stay big and did for a fair while before it faded away: the beer was fresh. My usual score of 3 for an odourless pilsner. Crisp and tangy mouthfeel: hops to the fore with a malt content just about preventing the beer from being too bitter or dry. A welcome addition to this breweries portfolio.
