Winter Sol is our winter porter brewed with huge amounts of chocolate malt, and is fermented on cocoa nibs and Madagascar vanilla beans. This beer is robust with a velvety smooth finish. Perfect for those long winter nights.

$4.10 pint can, WW. I bet Drake paid $4.50 for his... Pours black with a small brown head. Nose is roast, roast, roast. Also, chocolate, leather, tobacco, cocoa, coffee dust. Roasty as hell. Light char in the middle. Dry chocolates, a pinch of vanilla, but honestly, this little, why bother? Does not drink heavy, though I'm not going to call this light-bodied. Very nice.

Pint can from Beer Run, 5/10/23. New brewery! Brewery #2158. USA # 1752, RI # 11. Black, large brown head, average retention. Aroma of roast, chocolate, cherry, tobacco. Taste is roast, chocolate, vanilla, hint of smoke and tobacco. Chewy, well balanced. Damn good. Nice intro to a new brewery.

Poured into a becher pint glass, the appearance was a dark brown almost black color with a finger’s worth of white foamy head that dissipated at a decent pace. Mild stringy lace.
The aroma had some roasted coffee beans and chocolate malts with a semi-balancing bitter edge of some grassy hops. Just a touch of vanilla and a slight woodiness comes about.
The flavor leads with the roasty and sweet aromas strolling into the aftertaste and briskly into the finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a decent sessionability about it. Decent carbonation. ABV seemed to come close to what the brewer projected.
Overall, nicely done porter worthy of having again if I could get it.
