6 oz. pour on tap at brewery. Appearance is opaque black with persistent beige ring and trace lacing. Aroma strong roasted malt—borderline char—dark/baker’s chocolate, nut. Taste is strong roasted and sweet malt, with milk/bakers chocolate, molasses. Mouthfeel is light-to-medium bodied with smooth texture, soft carbonation and bittersweet finish as taste. Overall, good strength of aroma and flavor and reasonable complexity. Seemed slightly more complex than when I had it three years ago.

16oz can pours a thick black with some beige head. Nutty, malty nose. Cocoa, bread crust, cola, some brown sugar. Flavors are all the same with some coffee. Finishes full bodied but dry. Nicely balanced.

(Draught at Beer Temple, Amsterdam, 14 Feb 2024) Dark brown colour, almost black, with foamy beige head. Malty, roasted nose with dark chocolate, coffee, vanilla and black bread. Malty, roasted taste with notes of coffee, dark chocolate, cacao, black bread and a balanced roasty bitterness in a dryish finish. More than medium body, quite dry. Solid and well made porter. Very nice.

Can at home shared with Laura. Opaque black color with a medium sized light brown colored head that diminishes quickly. Aroma is malts, chocolate. Flavor is malts, chocolate, cocoa powder, sweetish with a distant lightly bitter hint. Very pleasant.

Brewery draught, 1/14/24. Dark. Tan head, moderate retention. Heavy coffee character with big earthy roast, cocoa powder and light black licorice. A bit heavy-handed on the toastiness, as that's all I'm really getting... Big coffee, cocoa, prune, pepper, licorice. Medium-plus body with some decent maltiness and good attenuation. But just a bit too much on the coffee intensity. Too much beany roast, despite the bitterness being balanced.
