Bottle, 0.33l. Deep muddy brown, almost black pour, one finger creamy beige head, long lasting, sticky lacing on the glass. Nice on the nose, roasted malt, coffee, berries and forest fruits in the background. Medium body, medium carbonation, lively. Average mouthfeel and texture, lightweight, fizzy, light stickiness. Surprisingly bitter taste balanced with medium sweet notes in the background. Roasty aroma, dark malts, coffee, ash. Licorice, forest fruits and berries. Toasted caramel, bready notes. Lovely hoppy notes lingering in the aftertaste. Long lasting finish, dry, bitter, hoppy. Pretty good.

Bottle at home from Trembling Madness. Also had this on tap at Moeder Original a while back. My mate Tre Nik decided he’d swill the fucker all over the floor and up my jacket and strides. Ashy cocoa vibes. Fruit and bitterness. Bit earthy. Burnt fruit cake edges throughout. Bosh.

75cl Fles van Etre Gourmet. Bijna zwarte kleur, beige kraag. Gebrand, tabak, pinda's, chocolade, koffie, licht fruitig, vleug caramel, bittere finish. Lichte body, romig mondgevoel. Superbier voor 5.5%.

Bottled 330ml. -at Ambasada Zagreb. Blackish coloured, medium sized beige head, roasty nose. Roasted malt, chocolate, herbal hoppy and bitter roasty finish. Roasty aftertaste as well.

Flaska från Etre Gourmet. Valnötsfärgad klar vätska med en fantastiskt fin stabil skumluva. Torr, välrostad och rejält humlad med både bitter- och aromhumle. Mjuk och len kropp skapar fin kontrast mot den bittra chokladen. Belgiskt med fikon, löv och jordighet möter amerikanskt med tallbarr och lite citrus. Ett mycket oväntat tillskott i Rankes portfölj men som alltid yppersta klass. Mycket gott

Bouteille 75cl, BB 01/02/2026, bottled 02/2024, batch# B160 partagée avec Patrick à Guata.
Brune foncée virant presque sur le noire, col crémeux et tenace café au lait.
Arôme respire le classique avec une belle base maltée oscillant sur un excellent chocolaté, caramel, grillé/toasté avec un léger parfum de houblon en retrait – ici, je retrouve plus un effet houblonné belge avec une amertume qui se dégage / léger herbacé voire fruité sur les agrumes.
Palais est léger, bien ficelé avec une belle dose de malts – c’est bien un bon porter avec un caractère grillé, chocolaté noir amer, cacao. Le tout est appuyé par un apport houblonné qui est en ligne avec ce que je retrouve dans une XX – amertume franche américaine mais gardant un côté ‘belge’.
