Named for the chilly, near-lager temperature its fermented, Chilly Rabbit Cold IPA drinks drier than its West Coast cousins, and shows off tangerine, mango and strawberry from a healthy dose of Cashmere and Idaho 7 hops.

12 ounce can from Niemuth's, 3/24/24. Hazy amber, large tan head, good retention. Aroma of lemon, soap, grain. Taste is mango, lime, soap, orange, pale malt. Juicy, low bitterness. A little odd.

On tap at Explorium - Milwaukee, pours a lightly hazy golden orange with a small white head. Aroma is a bit muffled, with earthy hops, touch of grass, and bready caramel malt. Flavour is way too sweet for a cold IPA, with big chewy caramel malt and not much in the way of hops. Maybe the sweetest, maltiest cold IPA Ive had. Not great.

The aromas are an okay blend of citrus and wet grain. Flavors are similar to nose, add in a bit of MJ and flavors are on the sweet side. Touch of old resin. Just drinkable.

12oz can. Not really a solid example of the style. While the tropical berry hop tone is pronounced, it isn't really suitable for the style. The body is murky, sort of darker than a typical IPA of any sort. Still sweet, not really dry. Better than the Hazy Rabbit, but that isn't saying much. Sort of disappointing.
