Throwing back to the unforgivingly bitter Westcoast IPA of the early 2000’s, the Artistic Double IPA is an acquired taste. Lighter in body and colour with mildly caramelly pale malts allows the hops to be the star of the show. Simcoe and Galaxy hops varieties add earthy, citrus, and tropical fruit notes with a dank background. The addition of rye malt accentuates the earthy finish, allowing that intensely hoppy ambience to linger on the palate. This Westcoaster should be consumed by experienced craft beer drinkers only.

473ml can. Pours a hazy orange gold with a medium, foamy, long lasting, off-white head that leaves thick, soapy curtains of lace. Aroma of grainy rye malt, caramel, orange and piney hops. Sweet fruity flavour of spicy rye malt, caramel, grapefruit rind, peach, apricot, earth and pine resin in a dry, long bitter finish. Medium body with an oily texture and average carbonation. A classic Westie. Bitterness that puts hair on your chest!
