Bottled 18.02.2019. Black, tiny bit of foam. Smells lactose, sweet. Very smooth, with a nice thickness. Taste is sweet, lots of lactose and chocolate, with some vanilla smoothing things out. Lactose is getting a bit of age, but not annoyingly so. Tasty.

330ml bottle. Jet black colour with small, frothy, fading, dark brown head. Sweetish, chocolately, dark malty aroma, notes of chocolate, cocoa, vanilla, houndreds and thousands, artificial hints of strawberry. Taste is sweet, chocolately, dark malty, notes of chocolate, cocoa, lots of vanilla, artificial hints of strawberry, a touch of roast; minimally alcoholic finish. Oily texture, cloying, almost tacky palate. I'm not a fan of those vanilla-flavoured (Impy-)Stouts - this one is a blatant example,; thereby overdone in a way that it deserves respect for its unshrouded forthrightness.

Smell of coffee. Black colour, tiny brown head. Aroma of chocolate, mudcake, vanilla, some roasted malt, overripe berries, some oak and bourbon hints. Very thick texture, super heavy body. Very sweet, lightly bitter.

Draught @ TCBW’18. Rated on 5.5.2018
Aroma is sweet with malt and licorice. Flavour is sweet and sticky with malt, licorice and mild coffee tones. Drinkability is not that great with this one.

12 oz. bottle, pours black with a small tan head. Nose brings out licorice, medium roast, some cocoa and dark fruits. Flavour is along the same lines, with vanilla, cocoa, tart fruits, and licorice. The tartness doesn't quite seem well-situated, but I can get used to it after well. Nicely integrated, but doesn't quite have the elegance of many other impie stouts. Solid brew overall.

Bottle. Opaque. Deep brown to black. Tiny head. Nose: dark chocolate, cocoa nibs, roast, toast, ashes, a strange little yeasty nose that seems to be a bit off. Full body. Taste: medium sweet. Chocolate, coffee, roast, treacle, distant smoke. Complex enough. Low bitterness. Quite OK but not really a highlight.
