Bottled. Dark brown with small beige head. Aroma of honey, caramel and smoky licorice. Sweet with medium-full body. Sticky toffee and honey. Mushy. Resinous finish with a touch of metal. Poorly made and disharmonious.

Bottle. Color: Very dark, almost black. Fast disappearing thin light brown head. Taste: Earthy, very dark roasted malt, rather sweet, black coffee with a full smoke mouthfeel. Lightly harsh and bit boozy mouthfeel.

Sampled at Gunnfryds Barmy Army New Year’s ticker party 2017. Clear dark amber body, close to black with a medium sized beige head. Aroma has dark roasted malt, dry fruit, smoke and wood. Flavor is a bit complex mix of dark, roasted malt, smoke, dry fruit, oak, peat, caramel and alcohol. Fine body and long lasting aftertaste with most of the flavors from the first impression. It actually ends up a bit messy, can’t really say if it’s a good beer or not. This might easy be a love or hate beer, and I’m feeling stuck in the middle here.

Svart med høyt beige skum. Lukter trevirke og røkt skinke. Middels fylde. Mørk sjokolade, røkt kjøtt, lite sødme for å være baltic porter. Noe salt lakris, anis, med middels lang bittersalt avslutning.

Bottle, 75cl corked. Close to black in the glass, with a dense, finger-thick light tan head. Licorice dominated aroma, with some smoke notes. Roasted malts, honey-hints, some peat and dried fruits. Prunes. The flavor has a good dash of licorice, with prunes, peat notes, a good dash of honey and some dark, heavy toffee. It’s full-bodied, lightly warming and semi-sweet. Lasting roasted finish with honey, toffee, prunes and a smoked hint. Interesting and quite tasteful, but sort of messy. 170107

Grand tasting at Craft Islington with Hackobock. Thanks to Danny. Almost clear amber - brown beer, thin tan head. Palate is smooth and semi dry, decent carbonation. Soft and dry dark malts, lightly tangy. Trace of dark chocolate. Fair bit of smoke, smooth though. Tangy fruity finish. Not bad.

Bottled. Deep brown colour with a mediumsized fluffy beige head. Aroma is nicely toasted with some chocolate, roast and mild toffee + alcohol to it. Flavour is smoked wet wooden with some mild meaty, chocolaty and alcohol notes to it. Finishes quite ashy. Kind of ok Baltic Porter, although a bit on the boozy side (a.k.a. lacking the normal balance of a BP). Still rather nice.
