Frejdahl Roulv is a Baltic porter brewed on Funen beech smoked wheat malt, local malted barley and Danish mead aged in used whisky barrels. Rich smoky flavor with notes of chocolate, raisins and plums. Made from all natural ingredients.

Bottle from Føtex. Creamy lightbrown good mostly lasting head. Black colour. Heavy malty and moderate hoppy aroma. Molasse and roast,. Moderate bitter ok roasted flavor. Average moderate bitter finish. Oily palate.

75 cl bottle, shared. Near black with a dense, tanned head. Roasted aroma with dark malts, a sweet, herbal, alcohol dense note, dark, dried fruits, chocolate, caramel malts, hay and the Vestfyen yeast trademark: Dusty notes. Subtle whisky barrel and smoked notes. Taste is sweet-roasted. Full body with a creamy texture and a soft carbonation. Finishes lasting sweet and roasted with alcohol dense notes and dark malts. Given the modest pricetag this is a fine Porter. If this was targeted pricewise to the premium segment, this would be a disappointment.

Bottle @ Home. Pours very dark brown with a fading light brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, cocoa, dark chocolate, light wood, mead, honey. Flavor is light sweet, rich malts, coffee, cocoa, dark chocolate, caramel, meadnotes, light honey, dark fruits, alcohol. Medium body, lively carbonation, light sweet finish with warming alcohol. Nice beer, specially as it is brewed at Vestfyen! 180715

75cl bottle. very very dark brown, smooth light brown head. aroma of sweet roasted malts, and quite some smoked wood, herbal spicy note too. very complex, the bourbon is very faint, i did not notice it. the honey may be part of the herbal notes. very nice, complex yet balanced, and crazy yet not sweet. Flavor is roasted malts, wood, hony, licorice, wood, faint smoke, really, really nice and flavorfull and complex, esp. impressive for only 9% abv. Vestfyen already makes a pretty decent aldi stout, but this one is much better, one of the best supermarket imp stouts/imp porters i have tasted in a long while.

Draught @ [ DOE - Olfestival Kobenhavn 2015 ] @ Lokomotivvaerkstedet, Otto Busses Vej 5A, 2450 Copenhagen SV, Denmark. [ As Frejdahl Roulv ].Clear dark brown color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting to diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, sweet malt, smoke, meat, light roasted. Flavor is moderate sweet and light bitter with a long duration, sweet malt, roasted, dark malt, smoke - meat. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20150528]
