Whenever we break out the London Fog Yeast, special things happen. This Imperial NEIPA is smothered in the stuff. Like a precious little snow angel blown in from the tropics, our little Miss Sunshine is chockfull of passion fruit, guava and mango with a thick creamy mouthful. This friends, is what Tahiti tastes like, or maybe Fiji. Or maybe Tahiti + Fiji. It's an expensive vacation hiding in plain sight, dressed down in a winter hat and warm socks.
Hops: Ekuanto, Nelson Sauvin Chinook, Cascade, Centennial, Columbus CRYO

440ml can from the Jumbo, Grote Marktstraat, Den Haag. Poured a hazy golden orange colour with a thin broken white head. The aroma is toffee caramel malt. The flavour is over moderate sweet, with a smooth, rich, toffee, light citrus, slightly oily, warm boozy, light hop bitter palate. Over medium bodied with soft carbonation.

NEDIPA by Uiltje created in the post-Swinkels era, in which Uiltje switched from the exciting craft brewery that it was to a go-to craft brand for the larger audiences they themselves had helped to create especially in the Netherlands. Thanks tderoeck for sharing. Snow white, medium thick, opening head on a hazy warm apricot blonde robe - but given that the haziness disappeared warming up, it was probably more 'cold haze' than actual haze... Aroma of papaya, lychee, honey pomelo, meringue, sweet guava, ripe peach, dried lemonbalm, Screwdriver hint. Colourfully hop-fruity onset, tropical and juicy but not overwhelmingly so, still a lot of papaya, lychee and guava though, moderately carbonated. Smooth, sweet middle, rounded doughy malts soaked in ongoing papaya, lychee and guava notes established by the hops, but also developing a mildly citric edge (pomelo) as well as a soft and brief herbal bitter element, all highlighted by warming, Passoã-like alcohol which even 'heats' a bit. Standard NEDIPA - to today's standards, of course; no big surprises here and a bit more 'mundane' than many of their pre-Swinkels offerings, but correct and to the point, delivering what one expects from the style in 2024. Coming to think of it, describing this as 'mundane' shows we have come a long way with these hazy IPAs since Heady Topper first caused a furore... But let us not get too philosophical around a Swinkels-owned beer.

Clear orange blond beer, small irregular off-white, pretty stable, a bit adhesive. Aroma: very nice, super fruity, juicy, lots of tropical fruits, mango, some citrus, a bit dank, honey, sweet impression, lovely! MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: nice, pretty sweet, lots of tropical fruits, juicy, a bit sugary, mango, citrus touch. Aftertaste: a little sour, some bitterness, sweet touch, ripe tropical fruits, passion fruit, citrus, one of the better Uiltje beers lately!
