Proefglas tijdens het 23ste Bierpassieweekend in Antwerpen gedeeld. Vineus, blauwe bes, licht kruidig, zuren, zoeten, chocoladetonen, kers, hout. (22-6-2024).

Bottle from Asao. Rich, fruity nose. Raisin, prunes, cherry, apple, caramel, spicy yeast. Dark brown with a red tint and a low, thick, tan head. Sweet and fruity. Orange, apple, grape. More fresh fruit than dried. Quite tasty, but tart and quite unlike most typical dubbels. Doesn’t seem so aged either. Quite a surprise.

Dark brown with thin head. Aroma of mushroom and old wet wood. Slightly tart and vinous. Touch of red fruit too. Mouldy, corky smell is a bit off-putting.

Bottle from Drinks Vanuxeem, Ploegsteert, Belgium. Pours a very dark brown (cola colour) with a thin fast dissipating head. Aromas of dry dark fruits, plums, stewed fruits, toffee, caramel and vinous notes. The taste is very different to the aroma, very tart with more upfront vinous notes and some cherries . Thin to medium body with average carbonation. Not my type of beer at all.

Donkerbruin toto zwart bier met weinig schuim. Smaak is fris fruitig licht zuur met iets van donker fruit en pruimen.
