Indiaøl er normalt eit sterkt øl både når det gjeld alkohol og humlemengde, men Humlehaud er eit alkoholsvakt Indiaøl til kvardagsbruk. Ølet er humla med dei amerikanske humlesortane Centennial, Simcoe, Zeus og Amarillo og har ein lang, deilig smak av humle. For å ikkje bli heilt ubalansert har vi gitt ølet ein høveleg maltkropp med ein god dose krystallmalt.

33cl bottle from ICA Storo, Oslo. Pours hazy amber with an off-white head. Rather herbal hoppy with notes of pine and then some citrus and fruits, pale malt and just a hint of caramel and wood. Moderate sweet with dominating hoppy flavours and a nice bitterness. Tasty and sessionable.

Big beige head. Hazy reddish amber body with powerful carbonation. Fruity mealy resiny aroma with herbal pineapple notes. Dry spicy wooden tropical fruit taste with peppery notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, mealy mouthfeel. Dryish peppery herbal resiny aftertaste with mealy wooden notes. Quite nice, but a bit too dry and thin to carry all those hops, which wind up a little sharp. (0.75l bottle, from ICA Aker Brygge.)

Tåkete brun med to fingre høyt beige skum som ligger godt. Lukter sydhavsfrukter, ananas, fersken, grape og noe trevirke mot kvae. Kjenner fruktigheten i starten, men en langvarig kraftig bitterhet overtar. Blomsterbitter. Noe fruktig sødme henger igjen også utover.

Nice slightly bubbly-creamy mediumlasting head. Aroma is grassy, old leafs, wet hops, bark, minerals, lawn, moss, hay, soil. Taste is slightly dry mineraly, wet grass, minerals, bark, harsh leafs, soap, soil, dried grain, moss, harsh hops. Medium to longlasting bitterness, harsh soapy mouthfeel. Boring.

Bottle. Pours hazy dark golden, with a big creamy off white head receding to finger thickness. Aroma is hoppy pine, orange peel and some tropical notes, as well as some roasted malts. Medium body with light texture, with soft carbonation. Flavour is bitter, grassy hops, with citrusy orange peel and grapefruit, as well as a nice back of roasted malts with grain, biscuits and honey. Lingering bitter finish.

Flaske på Cardinal med Espen Lothe: kveldens første nyhet, og vi ble ikke skuffet! Denne er iflg EL en "butikkutgave" av Vestkyst. Nydelig, kraftig humlearoma og frisk humlesmak med god balanse og lang avslutning. Han har brukt Simcoe for å gi en skarp fruktighet, Columbos og Centennial for grapefrukt og krydder, og Amarillo i slutten av kokingen for å gi den en blomsteraktig fruktighet.

Shared bottle at Kinn-night with Espen Lothe at Mi2 at Cardinal 04.05.15. Muddy peach colour. Aroma of overripe tropical fruits and grapefruit, with a gentle touch of feline urine. Good and similar taste, also with succade. Quaffable.
