2023 Double Bourbon Barrel 2x4 Benthic Imperial Stout with Toasted Coconut, Madagascar Vanilla & Guatemalan Catuai Coffee.
DB2x4 Benthic sits in a high garden of wide ranging flavors. I automatically pan to Triple Barrel Catch Hell to scale it, but this beer fans an alternate catalogue. Mother of pearl, the coconut! Cut from the trees, hand toasted and heaped lb x lb. Dense vanilla chocolate swirly, easing toward whiskey mochachino. ABV held quiet beneath piles of specialty malts, sweet steamer froth and good brewery practice. A great close to the season, and another notch up the stilts.

Can shared round Dan and Megan’s. Thick slick pour. Sits ominous. Decent bitterness on top of rich chocolate and dark roast malt. Big barrel presence. Scary easy drinking just shy of being overly pastry.

Big toasted coconut chocolate cake. Smooth. Shows the ABV as it warms and on the backend. Definite bourbon barrel notes, but the coconut is dominant

Canned, 2x 355 ml, shared with MiroB, Eric and Luka, Black with beige head. Intensive chocolate and bourbon, intensive barrel, coffee, loads of coconut, bourbon, cocoa, rich but not overwhelming or cloying. Thick, smooth and oily. Medium+ Sweetness.

Can at share. Near black pour with a thin layer of beige foam. Aroma is sweet, vanilla, chocolate and coconut. Taste is roasty with a syrupy feel, chocolate , vanilla, coconut. A little bit of warmth, but not as much as you'd expect .

A black beer, no head. Aroma of sweet dark roasted malt, Bourbon, caramel. Taste of massive coconut, bourbon, sweet dark malt, thick mouthfeel. Very good.

Can @ Mikkeller, Stefansgade. Black without head. Aroma is sweet, roasted malt, chocolate, cocoa, coffee, vanilla and bourbon. Flavor is very sweet and moderate bitter. Very sweet finish with heavy alcohol. A bit boozy. Oily and soft. 090524

Can thanks to Mike. Pours a dark brown with small tan head that lasts. The aroma is strong vanilla, coconut, chocolate, roast, booze. Slick body, vanilla bomb, toasted coconut, hides alcohol well, nice sweetness, enjoyed this.

Intense, roasty and heavy with loads of barrel, some vanilla, coconut, roasty coffee, cocoa and chocolate notes, oaky bourbon notes. Thick body, super complex and intense barrel overdose. Quite balanced and tasty. Great stuff
