Omaggio agli USA e al mitico luppolo Cascade, Asteroid 56013 è emblema della Renaissance della craft beer statunitense. In legame diretto con le prime West Coast IPA, è luppolata seguendo la regola delle 4C. L'Asteroide, a cui fa riferimento il nome e l'illustrazione sull'etichetta, è ispirato alla novella di Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, Il Piccolo Principe. 56013 era invece il numero di codice del Cascade durante la fase di coltivazione sperimentale: da qui trae spunto la nostra India Pale Ale, pronta a sfoderare armi e aromi per la sua personale conquista interstellare.

Clear golden appearance. Aroma is very fresh. Lots of sweet malts. Flavour has a nice mix of tropical fruit notes and more resinous, piney notes.

Draft sample @ Haand fest ’16, Drammen. Shared with the Norwegian tasting crew. Dorée, col blanc. Arôme au bouquet extrêmement bien fruité, rétro malt pils, tropical, rétro fin pils. Palais est fruité, tropical petite note de mandarine avec un léger fini herbacé, impression de houblonnage à cru. Malt pils et pâle reste en base.

Draft. A hazy golden beer with a yellowish head. The aroma has notes of citrus fruits, malt, and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, straw, and caramel, leading to a bitter finish.

Supert krankupp på Circus 25.1.16 sammen med Ovesen. Kveldens nest siste, og nok en höjdare. Iflg bryggeren Agostino er denne dedikert til humlene fra Cascadia (et historisk begrep som omfatter Oregon, Washington og Br. Columbia), og 56013 var nummeret på Cascade mens den ennå var på forsøksstadiet). Humlene som er brukt i denne er Cascade, Chinook, Centennial og Simcoe, og med Tettnanger til tørrhumling. Lys gylden, eksemplarisk skum igjen, og smaken er proppfull av citrusfrukter og tropiske godsaker. Superb balanse. Life is indeed good. Salute, Agostino!

From tap at Cirkus with JMD 25.01.16. Cleaer golden. Off-white head and lacing. Well balanced aroma and taste, with citrus, tropical fruits and pale malt. Excelleent drinkability!

Golden color, just hazy, with generous head. Aroma of citrusy hops, peppery. Dry body, but not weak, that enhances the flavor of crackery and biscuity malts, perfect canvas for the resiny hops, with bitter orange presence mostly.
Very clean and highly drinkable, and it also has a strong hop character. Excellent.

Draft @ BrewDog Shepherds Bush, Shepherds Bush W12. Pours a slightly hazy golden pale amber color with a small longlasting white head. Has a fruity malty citrus hoppy aroma. Fruity malty piney hoppy citrus flavor. Has a fruity malty piney hoppy grapefruit finish.

Tap at Mikkeller. Pours a clear orange with a 1 finger, soapy white head that lasts throughout. Big orange marmalade nose with some pineapple, mango and lemon zest notes. Average carbonation with a medium body and solid mouthfeel. Some notes of tang and orangina on the palate. Finish is all orange zest. Nice a crisply refreshing. A very good IPA.

Bottiglia @ Simei 2015, Milano. L’intensità olfattiva è elevata e la persistenza olfattiva è discreta. Il cappello di schiuma ha una buona persistenza. Il colore è ambrato. Il corpo è strutturato. L’amaro è deciso. L’intensità gustativa è elevata e la persistenza gustativa è sufficiente. Il gusto è piacevole. Le sensazioni boccali finali sono luppolate. Il finale è amarognolo e pulito.
