Omaggio agli USA e al mitico luppolo Cascade, Asteroid 56013 è emblema della Renaissance della craft beer statunitense. In legame diretto con le prime West Coast IPA, è luppolata seguendo la regola delle 4C. L'Asteroide, a cui fa riferimento il nome e l'illustrazione sull'etichetta, è ispirato alla novella di Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, Il Piccolo Principe. 56013 era invece il numero di codice del Cascade durante la fase di coltivazione sperimentale: da qui trae spunto la nostra India Pale Ale, pronta a sfoderare armi e aromi per la sua personale conquista interstellare.

Bottle from La Torre del Luppolo, Pisa. Pours pale amber with a pink tint and a lasting off-white head. Aroma of sweet malt, hop, citrus. orange peel, caramel and sweet rock. Quite high in sweetness, with light bitterness. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Finish is sweet and rather too sweet overall.

Bottle @ La Vache Folle. Best before 31 3 2017. Hazy golden coloured with a white head. Nose is grapefruits, juicy, like a less sugared fruit drink. Flavour is grapefruits, pine, well hopped. Fairly sweet. Low-medium carbonation. A bit creamy. Well balanced.

Draught @ BrewDog Shepherds Bush, 15-19 Goldhawk Road, Shepherds Bush, Greater London, England W12 8QQ. [ As Birrificio Italiano Asteroid 56013 ].Unclear - hazy matt medium amber orange color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, white head. Aroma is moderate malty, sweet malt - candy, caramel, wheat, moderate hoppy, orange - blood orange. Flavor is moderate sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average to long duration, candy, sweet yeast, blood orange, wood - citrus notes. Keg at the brewery restaurant. A mostly clear orange golden coloured pour a sticky off white head. Aroma is big sticky jammy pine, resinous hop, jammy fruits, berries. Flavour is composed of semi sweet toffee malts, orange rind, resinous pine hop. Old school ipa. Palate is semi sweet sticky, moderate carbonation.

Medium orange. Full body, massive wallop of caramel and tons of oranges. Modest hoppiness. Not sure what to make of this beer style wise. It’s not bad but not sure I would order again.

F: huge, off-white, very good retention. C: deep gold to orange, light hazy A: citrusy, tropical fruits, caramel, toast, pine resin, tangerine, earthy. T: malty, caramel, earthy, hint of basement, tangerine, melon, pear, tropical fruits, medium body, lower carbo, great IPA, worth to try, on tap at Mystic Burger in Como.
