One of our brewery's historic beers, an icon especially among regulars at our pubs in the Lambrate area. It is characterised by a delicate Pilsner malt base and by light American hopping with Summit and Citra. "Santa" is a golden ale that is fairly high in alcohol but remains very drinkable.

Bottle 75 cl. Pours a clear golden with a white head. Fruity and spicy nose. Medium body, very tart and citric. Ends dry. I believe this one is infected. 100910

Draught, 6.8%. Hazy golden colour. Big stable bubbly white head. The flavour is slightly fruity... Slightly citric... Not very alcoholic. Only a hint of yeast. A bit boring I think, but quite clean.

Weniger gut. Test vom 13.8.2008, Gebinde: Fass Noten: 12,8,8,7,-,8 - 8,26

Small frothy white head. Hazy yellow body. Perfumy earthy hoppy pea aroma with malty notes. Dry perfumy mealy papery yeasty taste. Weak earthy egg-like aftertaste. Balanced and harmonic, but didn’t really like the aftertaste. (0.3l draft at Isola della Birra, Milan.)

Draught Good dense head, yellowish coloured; pale orange beer. Nose of wet dog, old Wallonian houses’ aroma (sorry) but then I get some hops and sweet aniseed grains. Taste is rosewater, sweet almonds and some light malts, leaving a lot of restsweetness, ending spot-on with quinces’ jelly. Very slick, sugar-filled. Aftertaste gets some peppery, lingering flavour. It’s sweet, but not cloying. The sweetness is intentional, and it is nowhere boring.
