Brewed with coffee beans roasted by Has Bean, lactose and cacao nibs from Beau Cacao. 08|09 is a smooth, sweet and creamy stout with a chocolatey milky sweetness perfectly balanced by the roasted bitterness of the coffee.

Bottle from The Beerhive. Dark brown body with a thin beige head. Faint lacing. Aroma of wood, cocoa powder and vanilla. Flavour of toast, blueberries and wood. Thin body with a watery texture. Soft fizz. A tasty beer, smooth and slightly sharp.

Keg at the Merchant, CW, 28/03/18. As 08/09. Black with a decent light tan cap. Nose is mellow coffee bean, light roast, cocoa powder, charr. Taste comprises chocolate biscuit, coffee grinds, toffee, light spice, earthy, bitter sweet. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Decent coffee stout but the coffee flavour as not as pronounced for me as it usually is in this series.

Black with thick fluffy head. Aroma and flavour have a lot of heavily roasted coffee beans. Really bitter.

Bottle at home in Hackney - picked up at the brewery. Pours black-brown with a dense, frothy beige head. Great snout, like chocolate cake with freshly brewed coffee on the side. Medium sweet flavour with silky chocolate character, moderate roast, more chocolate cake character, decent bitter coffee notes, a nip of vanilla. Light to medium bodied with fine carbonation and velvety texture. Smooth finish with just an inkling of bitterness from dark cocoa, more rounded mocha, light roast. Awesome stuff. Tons of character for only 4.5%. Very well done.
