This Belgian-style pale ale is our vision for a light, flavorful, refreshing, and lower alcohol Belgian-style ale. We use the addition of coriander seeds and two different kinds of orange peel to add complex citrus notes to the spicy fermentation character of our house Belgian yeast.

Bot. So, shmitty is now available locally! Very slight metallic aroma but mostly an olfactory of fresh beer. Slight cloudy pale appearance. Taste is rather mild with a tad of banana in there. Very good co2 feel to this one. As the session continues we have a somewhat dull spice attribute that builds. Gentle, well behaved beer with a medium backbone of beldgy yeast. If I didn’t know better, I’d say this is a mild hefe.

12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 9/28/2015. Pours lightly hazy deep golden yellow color with a 1 finger dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of lemon, orange, pear, apple, apricot, white grape, coriander, pepper, light banana/clove, wheat, cracker, biscuit, light honey, herbal, floral, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast, bready malt, and light earthy hop notes; with solid strength. Taste of lemon, orange, pear, apple, apricot, white grape, coriander, pepper, light banana/clove, wheat, cracker, biscuit, light honey, herbal, floral, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate herbal bitterness/yeast spiciness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon, pear, apple, apricot, white grape, coriander, pepper, cracker, biscuit, light honey, and herbal/yeast earthiness on the finish for a short bit. Very nice balance, robustness, and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast, bready malt, and light earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/yeast/spiciness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light-moderate dryness from hop/yeast spiciness as well. Medium carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, fairly crisp, and lightly creamy/bready/sticky balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very good Belgian pale ale style. All around good robustness, complexity, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, bready malt, and light earthy hop flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

Pours yellowish with a smooth head. Aroma of juicy fruits, zesty lemon, yeasty notes and hints of spices. Taste is smooth, zesty and lemony with hints of yeastiness. Finish is yeasty, sweetish and a bit stuffy. Okay.

Draught @ Alesmith, Miramar. Aroma has apricot and some yeast. Flavour has strong apricot tones, yeast and some biscuits. Also mild menthol tones. Fruity, clean and quite typical Belgian blonde.

Taster at the brewery. Golden color with small white head. Orange peel, fruit esters, spicy yeasts, coriander, pepper, very interesting and complex aroma. Taste is classic Belgian blond, it?s lighter than you?d expect. Sweet grains and yeasts. A nice Belgian blonde, not bad - just not exactly my style.

On tap at AleSmith, pours hazy pale golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out Belgian yeast and light floral notes. Flavour is very light, full of light floral notes, Belgian yeast, and light doughy notes. Fairly flavourless, but smooth and drinkable. Decent stuff.
