The beer is an indulgent milk stout, using the most luxurious ingredients we could find. This is based on a beer Olly had in the states, and it was ‘the best beer I’ve ever had.’ So he’s created a version for himself with our Merakai twist.

440ml can from Middle Farm, Firle. Poured a clear dark brown colour with a short-lived, frothy tan head. The aroma is roasty malt, chocolate. The flavour is moderate sweet, with a smooth, somewhat rich, earthy, chocolate, light spicy hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

440ml can, gyle no.40, bought at Vinmonopolet Aker Brygge. Shared with Finn. Durable beige head, deep black in the glass, spotty lacing. Aromas of caramel-chocolate, slightly roasted. Semi-sweet taste of caramel, creamy chocolate, and bread, followed by a distant backdrop of coffee towards the ending. Smooth mouthfeel. Medium bodied. Pretty decent. (Tromsø, 25.06.2023).
