Svart. Mokkafarget skumring. Heftig krydder/bourbon-aroma. Myk munnfølelse. Smaken salt lakris, røstet malt & karamell. Pepper i en tørr avslutning.

100ml draught at Bar Flag. Just a few patches on the surface, scattered lacing, deep black in the glass. Aromas of dark malts, chocolate and earth, mid-sweet, attractive. Rich taste of caramel-chocolate joined by moderate vanilla sweetness, wood and a subdued spicy bite. Silky, smooth malty ending, lightly roasted. Full bodied. Enjoying. (Oslo 16.03.2023).

Black beer, bubbly tan head. Smells boozy, with prominent salted caramel and a bit of sweet fruit. Flavour has basically everything described, impressively, salted caramel again, booziness, a little chilli heat, honey, plus a good malty base. I also feel like it could have done with leaning into one of the flavours a little more but it's very nice and beautifully balanced all the same.

Panda 🐼 at home big thanks to Colin. An oily dark brown coloured pour with a fading, halo of tan head. Aroma is big oily big oily solvent, green apple, solvent, paint, brown sugars. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, woody roast, green apple, balsa wood, bark, oily, hint of chocolate, Palate is semi sweet, oily, light tang, little rough, Not a huge fan.

Bottle at home. Pours black, nose is chocolate, caramel, maple, vanilla, woody, taste is similar, meaty, quite a lot of burnt wood notes.

Bottle at home, from Siren online, wee hours of 14/01/23 ... Zoom Chatz with Wayne Kerrs. Black with a tan cap that dissipates to a swirl and edgeing. Nose is ripe old bourbonics, herb, oak, chocolate, spice, dried fruit rinds. Taste comprises dark malts, herb, spice, charr, big bourbon punch, fruit cake mix, molasses, cocoa powder. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced rising boost. Decent punchy BA ... will suit ageing I reckon ... fairly full on.
