Alcol presente.

375ml bottle at House of Hops, Petaling Jaya, Malaysia. Poured almost black in colour with little life. The aroma is roasty malt, super dry, oaky. The flavour is bitter and sweet, with a roasty malt, red berry fruits, dry, oaky, light boozy alcohol bitter palate. Full bodied with soft carbonation.

Stubby bottle from Siren online. Pours oily deep brown with a fast disappearing tan bubbles, fades to nothing. Aroma: solvent, oak bourbon barrel, red wine & port hints, dried fruits, spices, demerara, sour edge. Taste: moderate to heavy sweet, roast, various barrels, charr, caramel, molasses, dried fruits, cocoa, super boozy. Medium to full body with low carbonation. Very complex, much going on but they've tried to do too much, it's a muddled mess.

375ml bottle @ monthly tasting, Chez Sophie, May 24. Thanks Mike for this. Pours pitch black with a deep tan head. Aroma of deep malt, bourbon and caramel. Thick, unctious feel with layered bourbon-soaked dark malt, smoky hints, perhaps a fruity red wine hint, distant honey sweetness, spiced caramel integration.. an entertaining, big boozy fella.

Monday 27th May 2024, Shrewsbury Beer Share in Chez Sophie, five guys drinking beer and talking bollox. Last beer of the session for me, train calling. 375ml bottle from Mike. Black, slick body, tanned crown. Malty, with a lovely bourbon like flavour from start to finish. It's a sweet brew with a late chilli undertone, great beer to finish my session with.

Stubby bottle pours a translucent cola black, fizzy beige head faded fast. Nose is huge with wood and booze and malt. Huge caramel and malt. Some smoke. Some cardboard. Huge. Flavor is more port and old barrel than anything. Caramel. Salt. Char. Full bodied, heavy sticky finish.

Bottle sample at a tasting at a Yoav's place. Black. Lots of acetaldehyde, chocolate, wood, sweet and some sourish apple, a bit of smokiness.

On tap at Taphouse. Black with a tiny off-white head. Aroma of toffee, chocolate and booze. Sweet roasted flavour with a sour, burned and hot spicy note. Plenty of alcohol

On tap at Taphouse - CPH, pours black with a small beige head. Aroma is rather over-the-top, with intense perfumey bourbon, light chili, and caramel. Flavour is very perfumey, with lots of paint thinner, cocoa, and booze. What the hell? This went wrong. Perfumey, boozy mess. Not good.
