Its a blackout! Why not venture to the dark side with this dark but hoppy delight. A black IPA hopped with Galaxy, Monroe and Relax creates a rich yet satisfying brew. A smooth, well-bodied IPA lending subtle roasted undertones followed by a sweet-fruit and citrus sensation!

Half-pint on tap at Mad Squirrel Tap & Bottle Shop, shared with Finn. Near-black in the glass, off-white head, dotted spots on the glass. Slightly roasted malt-fruity aromas, inviting. Fine balaanced taste of mid-sweet chocolate malts, dark bread, and ripe citrus, a piney note to a malt-fruity finish. Medium bodied. Pleasing. (St. Albans 18.02.2023).

Delt med Rune på Mad Squirrel Tap St Albans. Svart. Middels høyt luftig skum, med litt farge. Lett fruktaroma. Hint av røstet malt. Smaken sjokolade & lakris. Lett tørr bitter avslutning.

Keg at Mad Squirrel High Wycombe, 20/01/23. Extremely dark mahogany brown to light black with a khaki cap. Nose is roast malts, ashen, a touch harsh, bitter tropical fruits. Taste comprises roasted bite, sprinkle of coffee, charr, pine nip, dried fruit esters, ashen notes, spice. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, drying close peppered with earthy hop bitterness. Okay CDA ... lacks a bit of balance and comes over a touch on the harsh side.

Keg at Mad Squirrel, Watford, Herts. A black coloured pour with a thin off white head on top. Vague roasty, chocolate, pine taste and aroma. Rather forgettable.

440ml can from Mad Squirrel, High Wycombe. Poured almost black in colour with a mostly lasting frothy off white head. The aroma is roasty, light piney hops. The flavour is moderate bitter, with a crisp, roasty, dry ashtray, piney, woody hop bitter palate.

Tap at the st Alban'sad Squirrel. A hazed dirty brown coloured pour with a thin scummy beige head. Aroma is tangy chocolate roast, vague piney hop, some black forest gateaux. Flavour is composed of tangy bitter roast, citric acid, little woody bark. Weird chocolate orange flavour lingering. . Palate is tangy, thin, little bitty, moderate carbonation. Worst beer these guys have done in a long time.
