Draught @ Sori Taproom. Poured near black with a thin light brown head. Deep smoky, malty, burnt woody aroma. Flavor has sweet smoke, malts, chimney, some tobacco. Smoke is spot on here. Aggressive but works nicely. Some licorice notes.

Bottle 330ml. [ As Õllenaut Brikett ].Clear dark red brown color with a small to average, frothy - fizzy, fair lacing, mostly to fully diminishing, light beige head. Aroma is light heavy malty, dark malt, caramel, peated, smoke, light earthy - woodl. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet with a long duration, sugary, peated, smoked, caramle, wood - oak. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is light alcoholic. Then smoke - peat did not work for me : ) [20161112] 5-3-6-4-8

Bottle @Ulfborg Scooper. Clear, dark brown small light beige head. Strong peat and tar. Sweet, smoky flavour. Lots of tar, almost too much for me. has a nice, smooth mouthfeel. Nice in small sips.

Bottle @ fonefan tasting. Hazy dark brown with a beige head. Aroma is dry, roasted malt and heavy peat. Flavor is very sweet and moderate bitter. Sweet finish with warming alcohol. Soft. Much too peated for my liking. 121116

Opaque dark brown, good two finger frothy tan head, half-way lasting, sticky lacing. Strong smoky nose, aroma smoldering peat, smoked meat, iodine, whisky. Flavour heavy sweet and light bitter, malty, roast, peat smoke, whisky, retronasal peat smoke and iodine. Sweetbitter finish, salty and woody; medium body, watery to creamy texture, soft carbonation. Quite nice, smoky peat always present but not too dominating yet a tad too sweet. Special one.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Max’s place. Thanks Stas. Dark brown. Big peaty aroma with lots of iodine, some caramel and dark fruits. Sweet flavor with malt, caramel, lots of peat, some dark fruits, and a bit of alcohol. Medium-bodied, rounded mouthfeel. A bit overpowering in the nose, but a nice beer overall.

100 ml sample. Very dark brown, beige head. Big peaty aroma, tarry, and rubbery, smoked fish and umami. The taste is not that brutally peaty - quite refined and complex - rich but not cloying caramel malts, subtle peat, umami, light fruity tartness. Earthy peaty bitter aftertaste. Very nice.
