33 cl bottle @ home. Batch #132, BBE 07.07.2017
Vertical with Turbahunt
Very nice aroma with peat and licorice. Flavour has strong peaty notes, some licorice and saltiness. Finishes with warming alcohol. I love peaty beers and this is not an exception. The islay-like (Laphroiag especially) saltiness in finish disturbs me a bit though. Also, the palate could be more rich - we’re talking about 10% ABV beer anyway. Not saying it is watery but...

33cl as a gift. Pours clear dark mahogany with a fairly small, beige head. Whoa, strong peaty aroma that reminds me of Islay whisky. Dark malts, chocolate, dark fruits, caramel and hints of alcohol too. Well balanced and surprisingly smooth and easy to drink. Sweet, smoky and delicious!

Thanks jinroh for sharing the bottle! Poured into a wineglass showing coffee brown. The nose shows a lot of swampy peat on the nose. The palate is full bodied with a light carbonation. A lot of whisky peated flavors but none of the abrasive or spicy alcohol on the nose or palate. Truly unique.

Pours dark, just a bit of beige foam, even if poured straight down. Aroma is full of peat, peaty peat. Visit to a peat bog, somewhat reminds me times when we used peat briquet’s to heat the house during Soviet times. Taste is actually not that peaty, more caramel, toffee and sweet burnt sugar in it. For some reason I still get that Õllenaut house character coming out strong, even piles of peat cannot overshadow it. Strong and chewy, lots of sweetness left in the beer. Probably would be better after some ageing blends the flavours into nicer harmony. Aftertaste is peaty again, just full of it. Difficult beer to finish, would recommend it for sharing between several people, in my case (having a full bottle all for myself), it seems to take time before I am able to finish this. Applauding for a cool experiment!
