Many thanks to mjs for a 330ml bottle of this one. Shared at a Yuletide gathering with Richard and Finn. Cloudy, dark apricot coloured body. Filmy layer, clingy lacing. Ripe citrus nose. Fine taste profile of orange peels, apricot and caramel malts. Resinous bitterness to the finish. Warmth for the alcohol. Well bodied. Decent sipper qualities. (Tromsø 16.12.2017).

Flaske 330ml spandert av Rune. Delt med ham og Richard på førjulstreff i WCveien 15 Des 17. Dyprød. 0 skum. Aroma av mandler & plommer. Smaken som aromen. Blir tørr etter hvert. I søtligste laget.

Bottled 330ml (Alko web)
Deep ruby colour, small steady off-white head. Sweet red berries juice straight from bowling kettle in the nose, also some rye bread. Full-bodied. Sweet berries, rye bread, alcohol and even licorice in the flavour. Sweet and alcoholic, gains from cellaring.

A dark brown beer, almost without head. Aroma has nice richness, maltyness of caramel and dried fruits, some pine and banana. Nicely elegant. Taste has sweet fruitness and richness of malts, nice drying bitterness, thus not too sweet, some spicyness of pepper and pine, bitterness in the end. Full bodied, almost without carbonation, slightly stickyness. Tasteful beer, close to excellent.

(Bottle, 0.33 l - batch 28, at Oljenkorsi, 20170923) The beer poured mahogany coloured and clear. Its head was small ring around the edges. Aroma had malts, caramel, raisins and molasses. Palate was full bodied and dryish with medium carbonation. Flavours were malts, caramel, apricots, sweetness, grass and bitterness. Aftertaste was malty and bitter. A good barley wine showing aging potential.
