What better way to toast the fall than to have a bottle of this formidable, dual character brew. At first smooth with mellow overtones of sweet berry fruit, a bite of bitterness suddenly cuts through, long, deep and lingering. Brewed with Rye Malt, it is naturally "blood red" in colour. Unlike the mythical wolf-like creature said to roam the bleak moorland surrounding Newcastle, this is real, so consider yourself warned!

Draft sample at the 2nd Annual Top of the Hops Charlottesville, VA beer festival, 9/10/11. Pours a hazy amber with a large frothy tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of bitter metallic and citrus hops with an earthy finish. The taste is earthy malts, nutty notes and a tart finish. Medium bodied.

12 oz bottle from Country Club Liquors. Nose is sweet and caramelly with hints of bubblegum. Rusty red with a medium, lightly lacing beige head. Flavor is caramel, a light bitterness, with ashy, burnt tobacco hints.
