Late Hopped Traditional Bitter. This bottle conditioned ale portrays all that is best about the traditional British bitter - hoppy bitterness on the palate and the nose is married with the full body of the beer. If Maris Otter malt is the body of our beer then hops are its spirit. Each year we choose our hops not just by farm but by individual garden and time of harvest. Hop variety Challenger is used as unprocessed whole leaf hops. Extravagant, perhaps, but delicious.

Bottled 500ml. -from Presporska Pivoteka ie Cafe Luxor, Bratislava. Dark golden coloured, small airy white head that went away fast, mild malty fruity nose. Sweet malty, fruity and caramel with notes of hops. Bitterish finish. Despite low abv not bad at all.

Bottle brought from Bratislava by some friends of Ogi’s, who shared it with me (thanks!). Poured a lovely full, slightly hazy orangey-amber-gold body with a medium sized, slightly off white head. Soft malty nose, very light notes of orange, some graininess. The taste is somewhat empty, but generally hop driven, and the nice piney aromatic hops are certainly welcome here. Very light bready notes. All in all a very solid little bitter. Nice!

Bottle thanks to my ’sister in law’ - Cheers Sarah. Clear amber beer. Light semi crisp and semi dry palate. Well balanced. Lagerish malt. Citrus hops, orangey. Unremarkable but well built and quite drinkable.

Sept 2009: Brown 275ml bottle, part of a presentation pack given to me by my daughter, loads of life left before its best before date. Poured into a UK half pint straight sided glass. Amber body, with a mini haze in it, a good sized white foaming head sat on top. Had trouble finding a smell at first, but some hops and yeast arrived as the beer warmed. The taste reminded me of farmyard manure and a green beer, meaning it wasn’t ready to drink. Too fizzy for me. Not overly impressed to be honest, pleased it wasn’t a pint bottle.

Golden colour with a white head. Light hoppy and fruity aroma. A bit weak flavour. Light malty, fruity and hoppy flavour. Fresh and easy drinkable, but light in a way.
