Bière Blonde de Luxe

1 L bottle, courtesy of MiP. Pours clear and golden orange with a small white head. Aroma is mild grassy and crisp hoppy. Bitter and dry malty flavoured. Bitter and dry finish with a subdued malt flavoured and lingering finish.

50 cl can at 5%. Sbutitled Biere blonde finement brassee. Golden color with a large frothy white head. Grainy, papery aroma. Thin bodied with sharpish carbonation. Flavor is grain and very little hop. It washes food down.

Bottled(250ml). -from 8&8 Delikát, Budapest. Pale golden coloured, small white head, weak but quite skunky caramelish nose. Lack of everything here; isn’t Hungarian 3% lager but tastes similar and I managed to bought it in Hungary. What a coincidence... 5.0%

5% I think. Stubby shared with and courtesy of ogivlado who found it in Hungary. It does say "finement brassée" on the label but it’s not a part of the name in my opinion so I’m moving it into the description. Like the Blonderbräu I’ve had earlier, coloured with caramel to achieve what other beers do by doing nothing special, a normal lighter golden body. Again, I really don’t wanna know what this would look like by itself... Lively carbonation, persistent small thick white head. It doesn’t look all that bad, but man.. The nose, however... doesn’t exist. Ok, I lie, it does, but you have to strain to sense some extremely light maltiness. Blah. Unfortunately, the taste is more similar to the nose than anyone would wish it to be. Some extremely weak notes of something similar to rice, microscopic traces of hop. The carbonation bite is the closes that they get to something resembling a body. As my notes say, WTF.

(100cl bottle) Clear, pale golden colour with a fluffy foamy white head. Dusty, sweet and a bit sourish malty nose, slightly grainy with a faint hoppy touch. Sweetish flavour, slightly acidic, very slim bodied with watery mf, smooth carbonation. Soft malty, a bit corny taste; minimal bitter and short finish.

Screw-cap bottle (1.0 l, purchased in Calais): Golden coloured, mid-sized fluffy head, quite stable; robust traces of barley and hops in the nose; very faint sweetish-bitter flavour, watery MF; extremely watery finish, only illusionous traces of malt and hops. Yeah ! French people, keep on making wine......
