Ichor

Bottle courtesy of Hopdog: Poured a dark brown color ale with a small foamy head with minimal retention. Aroma of dry sweet fruits and cookie dough is quite nice and enjoyable. Taste is generally lighter then expected with some sweet fruit and light cookie dough being enjoyable but less complex then I would have liked it to be. Body is way too thin for the style and carbonation is very low which doesn’t fit the style IMHO. Alcohol is well hidden and I would have to say that this a fair example of the style but better carbonation and fuller body would be even better.

A deep red beer with a thin brown head. The aroma is sweet with notes of plums, caramel, and brown sugar - quite complex. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of berries and alcohol, and lesser notes of caramel and molasses, leading to a very sweet end with a slight touch of wood. A very complex flavor, and a powerful body giving a slight alcohol burn.

Thanks to zathrus13 for this bottle - the cork was nearly impossible to remove, and the beer is STILL flat - syrupy, alcoholic aroma, with some notes of plum, raisin, brandy - port-like, nearly cloying sweetness - sticky mouthfeel - vinous qualities try to balance the sweetness, but come up short - brandy and grain alcohol come through strong in the rather thin finish - lingering, strong sweetness - some aging might mellow the heat, but without more body you’ll still feel it no matter what - decent, but way out of balance.
